Description

Power-Up your classroom with BYTES Power Smarts! Challenge your students with these Traits of Successful Students Vocabulary Choice Cards and 10 Activity Choice Cards to use with the words.

See full packet contents listed below and click on Preview under the thumbnails above to see a sample of the packet contents.

Choice CardsĀ® are task cards, but we think the word CHOICE is more motivational. Students have lots of CHOICES with BYTES Power Smarts Words for Fun Packs. Students can choose from among the Words for Fun Vocabulary Choice Cards and from among the 10 Activity Choice Cards in this pack. Choice Cards make learning FUN because the topics have real world connections, there are a variety of product options, and they are based on student choice!

Words for Fun Activity Choice Cards are designed for Common Core and 21st Century Skills and Themes. The Activity Choice Cards are numbered from 1 to 10 with increasing difficulty. The Common Core Standards listed are represented in this pack, but the actual Standards covered will depend on which Activity Choice Card the student chooses.

Words for Fun Choice Cards are perfect for students Grades 3-6 (depending on student ability) who are independent learners, compact out of a unit, fast finishers, or gifted. Choice Cards work well in learning centers, small group instruction, or individual Choice Cards can be selected for whole group instruction.

BYTES Power Smarts uses original art for its instructional materials. We think your students will enjoy our unique characters.

BYTES Power Smarts instructional materials are designed by Kathy Hackett and Theresa Jackson who have over 55 years of combined teaching experience in the areas of preschool education; elementary gifted and talented education; twice exceptional education; and deaf education; adult literacy; and undergraduate and graduate college education. Theresa and Kathy have received many outstanding educator awards including The Washington Post newspaperā€™s Agnes Meyer Outstanding Educator, Maryland State Department of Education Awards, and Time for Kids Excellence in Education, and both have coached first place state winning Odyssey of the Mind and Destination Imagination teams that have competed at the global level. See our profile page for more information about us.

We give you permission to use the terms Power SmartsĀ® and Choice CardsĀ® and to enlarge or reprint our instructional materials for use in your classroom or virtual platform as long as you do not sell or share these items.

Choice Cards, signs, and posters can be printed in color or grayscale although we recommend the use of color to keep students interested and focused. Teacher directions, information, and standards pages are designed in grayscale to save on ink. Every printer is different, so we suggest adjusting your printer settings to:

Page Size: Actual Size; Orientation: Auto Portrait/Landscape; Page Set Up: Borderless 8.5 X 11"; Scale: 100%. To save ink, try one page to be sure it prints the borders before printing the entire packet as you might have to make printer setting adjustments.
