Multicultural Literature for Social Justice & Writing: Hello, Universe

The teacher guide to Erin Entrada Kelly's Hello, Universe will further the concept of diversity to students, illustrated through text and class activities. It will encourage them to point out character traits, including differences, that the text acknowledges. They will have the opportunity to explore specific differences in physical traits, disabilities, and other traits in the form of activity, discussion, brainstorming, and opinion writing, and in alignment with the standards for a grades 3-5 writing curriculum. 

Using the lesson remotely:

1. A Google Slides component is available, which may be utilized in Google Classroom and virtual learning platforms. 

2. Printable worksheets are included, and are available as an option for those students in need of at-home paper packets.
