More or Less? { Promethean Board }

This is a PROMETHEAN BOARD flip chart for matching more or less. Students are given two pairs of two boxes with different number of objects in each. They are then asked to match the word "more" or "less" to the hi-lighted box.

For example:

box 1: 8 cats

box: 2 3 dogs

(the box with the dogs is hi-lighted

so the correct student response is

"less" since 3 dogs are less than 8 cats.)

The object pictures are silhouettes of different items.

This activity is self correcting, the boxes on the far right are containers and each word (more or less) has been coded with the correct box it belongs to.

(if the word is correct it stays in the box… incorrect and it is bounced out!)

I have used this to introduce and wrap up a lesson, a cloze activity, assessment tool and an independent activity.
