Description

Are you looking for a fun, reproducible, ready-made math work?

Do you find that your students struggle to solve word problems?

The Common Core outlines specific word problem types that every student should be able to solve, yet we don't often have the time to focus in on each problem type in isolation and ensure that students understand how that problem type works.

In this MadLibs style game, students become familiar with the structure of different word problems. They learn to focus in on what information is given and what information is missing, all while having a really good time.

This center focuses specifically on word problem types that can be solved using Addition and Subtraction.

Grammar concepts are reinforced using the Montessori grammar symbols to represent each part of speech. If you are looking for a non-Montessori version of this product, check out the Silly Stories series.

If your students are working on multiplication and division, check out the Montessori Math Stories for Multiplication and Division.

Use addition and subtraction within 100 to solve one- and two-step word problems involving situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all positions, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
