Description
Are you interested in an interactive Model UN simulation where the students would be able to understand the topic easily, would be able to discern many different views on the topic, and would be able to fairly easily discern the policies of the country they represent in the simulation? This product on climate change will "do the trick."
Updated April 2021 to include some of President Biden's climate policies
147 teachers have bought this product and the reviews are excellent.
Important: this simulation does not require extensive science background.
The first slide on the preview gives you some ideas as to how to run the simulation.
Included is an outline for the students to take notes, Rules of Procedure and process for MUN debating and a brief quiz.
Here is a list of my Model United Nations products. They are listed according to how user friendly they are. Capital punishment is first because (a) students already know many arguments on all sides of the issue; (b) it is easy for students to uncover the policies of their country; (c) I present many topics to discuss;
(d) I present an actual UN resolution on the topic, with a list of how every country voted. The Kurdish issue is # 12 because you have to know a fair amount about the Middle East to debate that topic.
(1) Abortion (2) Gun Control; (3) Population – Overpopulation (3) Women's rights
(4) Drug Trafficking (6) Islam and Western culture
(7) the Cuban embargo (8) Nuclear Proliferation (9) Military and Social spending (10) UN Security Council Reform (11) the Eradication of land mines
(12) Independence for the Kurds?
You will find all of these on my Teachers pay Teachers site: “21st Century Global Studies.”
Credibility: See my TpT profile. For a decade, I organized the largest (400 students) one day Model UN Conference in New England.
