Description
In this Master Guide, you'll find everything you need to run a mock trial in your classroom!
- Background lessons about the justice system and court room roles
- Complete "evidence packet" to be analyzed by students and used to prepare for their role in the trial
- Script (reader's theater style) for the day of the mock trial
- *JUST ADDED* End of Unit Reflection
Best for upper elementary/middle school students.
The trial is a case between a student and his/her principal. The principal believes the student should be suspended for cyberbullying and violating the terms of the school code of conduct. The student believes in their right to freedom of speech and his/her suspension is unfair and should be removed.
What a wonderful way to incorporate a common social issue in upper elementary/middle school through a fun and interactive whole group Social Studies activity!
