What educators are saying

This was very helpful for my students who were struggling with remembering which was the plus and which was the minus.
My students are visual learners, and they were really engaged with this resource. It helped them remember using a plus sign to add and a minus sign to subtract. Thank you!

Description

***Zipped File*** Once you download the folder, you will need to left click on it and "Extract" or "Unzip" to access the files.

This download contains 4 files:

  1. A 9-slide Power Point presentation that introduces mnemonics for students to remember what the plus sign, minus sign, and equals signs look like. (See the video preview.) A custom animation of the plus sign mnemonic is imbedded in the presentation.
  2. A 3-page .pdf file. 2 pages are "student notes" or short worksheets for students to follow along as you do the presentation or to review the mnemonics on another day. The third page is a short worksheet to practice the difference between plus and minus. (see image above)
  3. A 2-page .pdf of large images (20" by 36") that can be used as "anchor charts" or posters in your classroom. You can print them at a FedEx if you want them large. You could also project them onto poster board and trace them to make your own posters. (see preview and image above)
  4. A .gif file of the plus sign animation that is also in the power point.
