“Miss Rumphius” by Barbara Cooney is a beautiful, realistic fiction piece that won the American Book Award. The illustrations are gorgeous! The story is perfect for a literature component for a plant study, spring unit, or Earth Day study.

This activity can be used in small group instruction, as a literacy center, as a walk around, or as a scoot activity.
