What educators are saying

My students loved drawing the minions. they really understood the topic in a better way and could meet the expectations of the task.
I used this resource as one of the menu items they could complete. A lot of the students chose this one and thoroughly enjoyed completing it.

Description

Students use Mendelian Genetics and Minions to illustrate the difference between Genotype and Phenotype.

Students create two "parent" minions and outline the genetics of these parents. They then combine the genetics of the two parents to illustrate a baby minion and complete Punnett Squares for all minion traits.

Develop and use a model to describe why asexual reproduction results in offspring with identical genetic information and sexual reproduction results in offspring with genetic variation. Emphasis is on using models such as Punnett squares, diagrams, and simulations to describe the cause and effect relationship of gene transmission from parent(s) to offspring and resulting genetic variation.
