Description

Minimal Pairs Cluster Reduction: use with a cycles approach for phonological disorders

This phonological disorder packet targets cluster reduction. Just print & go- it’s no prep!

I created my Minimal Pairs packets because I had a TON of students with phonological disorders. I followed a cycles phonology approach with them, but with a huge caseload and not a lot of time, constantly organizing my minimal pairs cards and finding what I needed became a hassle. I created these no prep minimal pairs pages to save time, keep myself organized, and easily and efficiently target phonological disorders. I hope you and your speech therapy students truly enjoy these Minimal Pairs phonology packets, because I can promise you, the simple layout of these phonological disorders worksheets made my life THAT much easier.

At the top of each page is the option for an “Auditory Sorting/ Discrimination” activity. You will read the minimal pairs on the page, and the child will point to the sound or sounds that he or she heard. Each sound is paired with a visual and written “sound descriptor”.

Next, target “Word Production of Minimal Pairs” easily. 4 minimal pairs are provided per page.

Last, make sure to read the “Auditory Bombardment” word list to the child. Slight amplification is usually recommended for this activity.

These sheets also provide easy homework/ carry over for your students!

This kit includes the following minimal pairs: /st/ vs /s/, /st/ vs /t/, /sp/ vs /s/, /sp/ vs /p/, /sm/ vs /s/, /sm/ vs /m/, /sn/ vs /s/, /sn/ vs /n/, /sl/ vs /s/, /sl/ vs /l/, /sk/ vs /s/, /sk/ vs /k/, /sw/ vs /s/, /sw/ vs /w/, /fl/ vs /f/, /fl/ vs /l/, /fr/ vs /f/, /fr/ vs /r/, /br/ vs /b/, /br/ vs /r/, /pr/ vs /p/, /pr/ vs /r/, /pl/ vs /p/, /pl/ vs /l/, /dr/ vs /d/, /dr/ vs /r/, /tr/ vs /t/, /tr/ vs /r/, /gr/ vs /g/, /gr/ vs /r/, /kr/ vs /k/ & /kr/ vs /r/
