Description

This is a mini-guide (a two-week literature study) for the book Adam of the Road, by Elizabeth G. Vining. The book is a work of historical fiction about a boy who searches for his father and his dog in 13th century England.

The guide contains:

  • vocabulary activities
  • discussion questions
  • reading activities: rhyme scheme, the number 3, alliteration, matching, cliffhanger, sequence, allusion, simile, descriptive writing
  • related activities
  • writing exercises
  • life applications/Bible
  • web links
  • a crossword puzzle
  • activities that may be used as assessments
  • an answer key

This interactive guide enables parents/teachers to facilitate an oral discussion of this book, but it only provides space for one student to complete fill-in-the-blank activities. If you are interested in using the guide with more than one student, check out the options:

1) Reproducibles (contain all of the fill-in-the-blank activities -- you have permission to make a copy for each of your students):

Mini-Guide for Middlers: Adam of the Road Reproducibles

2) The guide is also available in a workbook format; in this format there is space for students to write all of the answers:

Mini-Guide for Middlers: Adam of the Road Workbook (if you purchase the workbook, you do not need the reproducibles because all of the fill-in-the-blank activities are included in the workbook)

  • NOTE: The content in the interactive guide and the workbook guide are the same; the only difference is spacing.

Mini-guides are used in home schools, co-ops, and traditional schools. Click on the link to browse through all of the Mini-Guides for Middlers.
