Description
Teach and practice positive self-talk with this activity book! It includes positive affirmations and prompts to help students grow their self-esteem. Positive affirmations and self-talk statements can help students build confidence, problem-solve through challenges, and manage tough emotions along the way.
Coloring AND Prompts
Every new positive self-talk statement includes a coloring page and a prompt to help students respond about that affirmation. This gives you a chance to highlight what the affirmation means and why it matters before and after coloring.
For example, the first self-talk statement is: "I love who I am." The following prompt encourages students to share what they love about themselves. Students can complete this prompt with writing or drawing.
Some self-talk statements include:
- Every day is a fresh start.
- It's okay to feel how I feel.
- I'm becoming the best version of myself.
- I am smart.
- I will do my best.
- I am a work in progress.

Ways to Use
- Assign as a "do now" in the morning.
- Start your morning meeting with a coloring page and prompt.

Why Teach Social Emotional Learning Skills
Social and emotional learning, referred to as SEL, is the process that helps kids and young adults learn critical skills, attitudes, and mindsets for social and emotional success. These skills cover five major areas: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationships, and responsible decision-making. It’s actually difficult to describe in just one sentence because SEL covers everything from building confidence and managing emotions to making friends and understanding ethical decision-making skills. These are truly the foundational skills that help kids to be successful in and out of school.
