Description
This Middle School College Readiness unit is designed to help counselors and teachers build college and career readiness with middle school students. Featuring an 8 lesson group counseling plan, each lesson can be used with a small group or as a whole classroom lesson. These lessons are perfect for giving students the background knowledge and basics of college life and creating exposure to higher education as a post high school option.
Included in the Middle School College Readiness Lessons & Activities:
- 8 counseling sessions or whole class lessons
- Each session is designed to be between 20 and 30 minutes, apart from Lessons 6 and 7 which may be extended into two sessions each.
- Each lesson includes discussion/script prompts to help your group counseling flow, and guide students to examine their thoughts and knowledge about college readiness.
How to best use this Middle School College Readiness Unit:
- Each lesson includes an activity that can be done as a counselor-led whole class lesson, with a small group, or completed individually in a notebook.
