Inspired by Wayne Thiebaud and pop art, comes a great hand building lesson package, "Piece of Cake".
Have your students create their own version of a food "slice" out of clay. These slab boxes can be used as keepsake or treasure boxes, perfect for holding small items like coins, jewelry, airbuds/earbuds etc.

- PDF Teacher Slideshow with step by step instructions, visuals, material list, project variations, glazing suggestions and helpful tips.
- PPT Student Slideshow with step by step instructions and visuals.
- 5 JPEG files of student work
- 2 Student Rubrics, in DOC and PDF format

The Teacher Slideshow walks any teacher, new or experienced, through the project, the timeline, what to prepare before the lesson, suggested materials, informal kiln and firing information, and how to guide students through the project.
The Student Slideshow is editable, and is a visual step by step guide through the project. Teachers are able to edit, change and alter any slides to fit their student needs. It includes 3 options for color choices to finish their project and suggestions on application.
I always provide each project with 2 rubrics. They are the same, just one is editable and one is not. Like what is on the rubric? Hit print on the .pdf and you're ready to go! Want to make some changes? Select the .doc version and edit away!
