Right now and for the foreseeable future Microsoft office and specifically Microsoft Word is a standard that majority of people and businesses use daily. Even in college students will be expected to turn in Word documents to be graded. A mastery of Microsoft Word has been a good skill to possess for productivity and efficiency in modern life.
