"Mental Health Resources" Mini Lesson for Grades 7-12
Description
This is a short lesson that can be easily squeezed into your busy schedules to teach students about mental health resources and who they can reach out to when they are struggling with their mental health. This lesson also helps students to identify when they or someone they know may be struggling with their mental health.
This lesson includes a music video to help better engage students and allows for a differentiation so more students have the opportunity to understand the concepts of the lesson.
This lesson also includes a short video that introduces the concepts of the lesson, 3 discussion questions, and a bonus activity!
Our goal with this lesson is to give students the skills to be resilient and able to deal with the ups and downs of life. This lesson talks about warning signs that someone may be struggling with their mental health, coping skills, practicing mindfulness, and who to reach out to when they need help.
We know how hard it can be to find time to add extra lessons into your day, and that's why we created this mini lesson. These can be completed in a short amount of time, and all of the material is created for you with tips and instructions for each of the sections. We also identified all of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) standards that the lesson meets as well.
We hope you enjoy!
