Description
The Chinese Tangram, or "seven boards of skill," is a unique Chinese puzzle with a rich history. It is said to have originated in the Song Dynasty. The object of the puzzle is to make recognizable shapes using all seven pieces. Variations on the puzzle include a challenge to see how many, say, "birds" can be made. The Tangram is a fun, kinesthetic, extension-activity for individuals, pairs, or groups. An "origin story" is included, although the real origin is unknown. Still, the "origin story" is clever and engaging.
