Measuring mass, volume, and capacity!! 3.MD.2
Description
This unit includes all you need to teach common core standard 3.MD.2. Students will measure and estimate liquid volume and masses of objects using grams(g), kilograms(kg), and liters(l).
~Gram Lesson: A guided note-taker foldable to identify 1 gram, 10 grams and 100 grams. Great for math notebooks!!
~Guess My Mass” : Students will use a number line to estimate how much each object will weigh, then measure each object using a scale and use a cubic square as the unit of measure.
~Liters Lesson: A guided note-taker foldable to identify 1 liter, 2 liters, 10 liters and 50liters.
~What's My Capacity: Students will circle the appropriate measure in liters by looking at given pictures.
~”Fill It Up:” Students will estimate how many liters of water will fit in several containers by estimating and writing their data on a worksheet. Material list is included for this lesson
~What’s The Volume”: Students will estimate and draw the containers from lesson above in order from least amount of volume to greatest amount of volume, then they will measure the containers use a 1 liter bottle as their unit of measure and draw their actual results from least to greatest amount of volume. Material list is included for this lesson.
~Kilogram Lesson: A guided note-taker foldable to identify 1 kilogram, 10 kilograms and 100 kilograms.
~”Weighing Mass:” Students will circle the appropriate measure in kilograms by looking at given pictures.
~ Word Problems: Students solve word problems using all three units of measure.
~ Assessment Worksheet: Test to assess everything covered in this unit.
