What educators are saying

This was a great review for students who needed a refresher of measurement in a real world and fun way!

Description

This product contains 2 items:

1.) 5 unique measurement scavenger hunts for students to practice measuring items around the classroom/school in both inches and centimeters. They can use the rulers they created as well!

2.) Create Your Own Ruler Activity - students will be able to create their own ruler (either in inches or centimeters!). If you would like more information on the “Create Your Own Ruler” product, here it is:

Create Your Own Ruler Activity (Inches and Centimeters)

This product is great for stations, centers, review activities, or lessons! Worksheets increase in difficulty - as they start out, they will be measuring items that will be less than 1 foot - later worksheets will have more items that need to be measured that are greater than 1 foot. This will allow for differentiation within the classroom, while still being able to have everyone doing the same activity!

This product can be used (common core aligned) for 1st-3rd grade - or for 4th-5th grade review!

Standards this product covers:

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Order three objects by length; compare the lengths of two objects indirectly by using a third object.
Express the length of an object as a whole number of length units, by laying multiple copies of a shorter object (the length unit) end to end; understand that the length measurement of an object is the number of same-size length units that span it with no gaps or overlaps.
Measure the length of an object by selecting and using appropriate tools such as rulers, yardsticks, meter sticks, and measuring tapes.
Measure the length of an object twice, using length units of different lengths for the two measurements; describe how the two measurements relate to the size of the unit chosen.
Estimate lengths using units of inches, feet, centimeters, and meters.
