Do you have students that frequently use fake hall passes? Prove your mind reading prowess with a set of number based magic tricks. Unlike most of my other projects, these do not necessarily need to be completed in order and can fit throughout the year as you wish.
In this 18 page PDF, you will be given a mapping to the Content Standards, an outline for how to implement the project, 4 different magic trick assignments for students to use, and an answer key.
-- In "The Curious Case of Kaprekar Constant", the student will use a mysterious algorithm that always ends in a result of 6174.
-- In "Mind Reader", students will follow a series of steps -- and then you'll read their mind!
-- In "Magic Cards", students will think of a number between 1 and 31 and ask them to mark the cards that have their number on it. You'll be able to determine their number. Can they figure it out?
