Math With Acting: The Flower Shop AREAS of SHAPES Real World Script

Math With Acting is a FUN way to introduce Real World Math problems
to students. It can be used to teach or reinforce mathematical concepts.
Math With Acting lends itself to differentiated instruction and
cooperative learning. It encourages active participation and is highly
interactive.

This episode focuses on practicing finding the areas of various shapes. Shapes included are squares, rectangles, triangles and circles. Students take on various roles, acting out a real world type scenario where a flower shop is determining how much of each type of flower they must purchase for a flower display at an upcoming event. The only problem is that the display keeps getting changed by the customer!

Other students follow along and see how their displays are calculated. There are several extra displays included that all students can work on individually or in groups.
