Description

This project has students combining their love for math and music into one single project! It can be used at any grade level for any math class. Use it as a review for the end of a chapter, end of a unit, or even end of the curriculum!

Personally, I have used it as an end of year project and counted it as a test grade.

Students choose any topic from their class curriculum learned during the school year and they will create lyrics to a song or rap and then either perform it to their class live or record a music video to present to the class. The students are given the opportunity to create the music videos in case they don't want to perform live. They may work alone or in partners. Students will love that they have options to choose from in terms of their songs and type of performance. They also can show their creativity through this project! Teachers will approve all music choices!

This file includes everything needed for the project:

- Details about the requirements and expectations for each type of performance

- Project Checklist of all important information

- Restrictions and Suggestions

- Requirements for Lyrics and Performances

- Project Timeline/ Due Dates

- Rubric (Categories include: Topic, Examples, Mathematic Terms, Lyrics, Creativity & Usefulness, Presentation, and Due Dates) - out of 100 points

*You can always add on a peer reflection form to ensure students are giving their peers their full attention during presentations and performances*

*The example used is for Algebra 2*

*Typical timeline for this project is approximately 4 weeks*
