Math Mini Project- 6 Choices/Rubrics- Editable- End of Year
- Google Slides™
Description
I have done this mini-project every year I've taught and I absolutely love it. You can use it over and over again in a variety of different ways but my favorite is to end the school year. It is simply a great way to check mastery, provide differentiation, and allow students to be creative and have some fun showing their knowledge. The project typically takes 1 week in my classroom but could be shortened or extended depending on your needs. You could also save this project and edit to use during the school year after you have completed a unit and have extra time to extend the learning. There are 6 choices and students select 1 to complete as a final "mini-project". Or you could only present one option to students and save the rest for another time. There are 6 rubrics that accompany each choice along with 2 project planning forms, a self/team reflection, and 4 pages of tips/suggestions. I have also redesigned the project to fit the distance learning needs for the 2020 school year. Keep in mind this was designed for a seventh grade math class but even if the project doesn't fit your grade level, it is completely editable in Google Slides so that you can personalize and put your own spin on it. I highly recommend this project as a way to end the school year or any unit you teach. I hope it works for you and your students! Let me know how it goes!
