Math Lesson Plan 1 and 2 Digit Addition with Regrouping

This is one of the best Math Lesson Plan on adding 1 and 2 digit numbers. This lesson plan is MELC based; therefore it includes all the standards that you or your administrator needs to see. Some students just do not know how to do the basic addition of a single digit. Some do not want to use the ten frames or the place value chart. In this plan you get two simple way to reach those students. you have the "Ones Bus" and the "Tens Bus" Its that easy.

Use the busses and allow students to count the number of persons the bus can hold. Use the questions that are included to build a rapport with your students. Your students will love the buses and of course they would definitely want to take one of the busses to the zoo.

This is a fun and interesting way to get students involved in the lesson and actually learn. This is the best way to get them to use their counters and ten frames. Have them solving single digit addition first. then move on to double digit addition.

My students loves to toss the die and add the numbers on the place value chart. The best part is the game in the evaluation section of the lesson. Students or the teacher toss the die and everybody move their counter the number of time that is on the die. They should add the numbers that the counter lands on and the first group to give the correct answer gets full score. the second group 1/2 score and so on. This is a fun way to end the lesson leaving you and your students smiling.
