Math Estimation Jar Take Home Fun

Have fun in math as children take turns bringing home the class "Estimation Jar" each week. When the jar is returned on Monday, children write their estimations on sticky notes. Make sure to use that rich math vocabulary as the items are laid out, grouped, and skip counted. Discuss greater than, less than, tallying, and size as upon completion. Great Friday activity, and the closest estimator gets to take the jar home for the weekend. Be sure to look for my mini-unit containing the song and response sheet I use. Happy Estimating!
