What educators are saying

I used this resource with a student who does not speak English.I needed to pinpoint a grade level or math class. This assessment was a great way to do that. I am now able to curate resources for him during our math class.
This resource helped to find our the grade level where the students that I worked with in spceical educaiton were performing.

Math Placement Grade Equivalence Test
Common Core Math Assessment Grades (K-7)

This 50 question assessment uses the Common Core Standards and The Standardized Brigance Basic Skills Computation Achievement Test to help teachers find grade equivalence for their students.

This test CAN be broken down over a period of different days.

While this test is not standardized, it does mirror the format and testing of the Standardized Brigance Acheivement Test used in most states while focusing on Common Core Standards for each grade.

Each Grade level has 5-10 questions with an answer key, rubric, and charts to help teachers place students in proper math groups and levels and determine deficits to drive instruction.

This is a computation test. No Word Problems.

Math Word Problem Grade Equivalence Performance Placement Test

This test uses current MATH standards and instruments similar to the BRIGANCE to help give teachers a general idea of the student's functional level AND grade equivalent when working with WORD PROBLEMS.

2 Versions - ( one can be given at the beginning and another at the end of the year.)

18 word problems on each test with increasing difficulty assessing different grade level skills.

Includes answer keys and directions to help teachers determine performance level and grade equivalence.

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Use addition and subtraction within 20 to solve word problems involving situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all positions, e.g., by using objects, drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
Solve word problems that call for addition of three whole numbers whose sum is less than or equal to 20, e.g., by using objects, drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
Apply properties of operations as strategies to add and subtract. If 8 + 3 = 11 is known, then 3 + 8 = 11 is also known. (Commutative property of addition.) To add 2 + 6 + 4, the second two numbers can be added to make a ten, so 2 + 6 + 4 = 2 + 10 = 12. (Associative property of addition.)
Understand subtraction as an unknown-addend problem. For example, subtract 10 – 8 by finding the number that makes 10 when added to 8.
Relate counting to addition and subtraction (e.g., by counting on 2 to add 2).
