Math Bingo - Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying, Dividing Rational Numbers

ANSWER KEY IS IN THE PREVIEW ATTACHMENT. I used this math bingo activity as a way to review before a test for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions, mixed numbers, and decimals positive and negative. Students get to practice up to 23 problems and they don't even notice. The kids love it but be prepared to give out prizes.I always give out a small prize from the dollar store.

First print out each of the 8 sheets in excel one by one. Cut each page in the middle to form two bingo cards. Put each bingo card inside a plastic cover. Each pair of students will have 1 bingo card. This is a set for 32 students.

All bingo cards are mixed, but they all have the answers that you have on your master answer sheet. They will use two small white boards or clear boards or their notebook to write and show their work. They cannot win the game unless they show work for each of the answers circled on the card. You will need one dry erase marker per pair. Pass them out at the beginning of class.

You will use the sheet in your "upload preview" that shows you all the math problems and answers. Put inside a plastic cover. You will randomly choose questions, read out loud, and write the math problem on the board. Give students 1 minute or more to solve on their whiteboards or notebooks. Tell them that they will take turns answering the question. After the 1 min is up, select a random student to tell you how to solve and you solve on the board. You can walk around to see how students are solving each problem and if they get it. Do the same thing for the next question until they get 5 in a row they yell BINGO! Tell them you are looking for 5 winning teams. You will write their names on the board as they win. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th place. You might just get two winners and that's okay. What matters is that they practice the skills in a fun way.

By the end of class you can give them whatever gift you prefer to each team, one per student. Students will use the dry erase marker to circle or x each of the answers on the bingo card. In the end, have them erase the marks on the plastic cover of the bingo card and pass the cards forward. I have a little towel at each table for them to erase.

The kids will get very excited and very competitive guaranteed. Have fun with this activity!
