Martin Luther King's Life Through Pictures, Nonfiction Text, and Speeches

This lesson incorporates art intergration into a powerful lesson about an important person in our history. Your students will make text to world, text to text and text to self connections to enhance their understanding of their community and the surrounding world.

They will be able to read nonfiction text and analyze it, get a look inside his childhood to compare it to how they live today, learn about history, evaluate portraits, and witness the impact one person has on society first hand by analyzing his speeches.
