This was a great resource to integrate reading and writing within our history topic, the Civil Rights Movement.

Description

This unit is perfect for celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.! It is also a great unit to use during the month of January, so students will have a better understanding of we celebrate this great leader. Students will analyze what character traits made him such a strong leader. Students will then write an opinion essay, with guidance, about Dr. King.

Students will not only learn about Martin Luther King, Jr. during this unit but will practice writing an opinion essay.

The graphic organizers and activities included are suited to work with most read aloud about Martin Luther King, Jr.
