Description

Take your kiddos on this engaging 10 lesson project based learning simulation that teaches map skills.

The simulation scenario involves an expedition group that has gotten lost somewhere in North America. Students will learning various map skills focusing on using US maps. Your students will work in collaborative groups completing activities and earning points to build a helicopter on the last day of the simulation to save the expedition team.

The simulation also contains a study guide, assessment and early finisher activities for students.

Map Skills included in the simulation:

Continent and Oceans

Parts of a Map (compass rose, map key, inset map, scale)

Giving directions using primary and intermediate directions

Creating a map

Types of Maps

Hemispheres

Latitude and Longitude

The simulation contains 10 daily power points to accompany daily tasks, group projects, individual projects, study guide, and assessment.
