Description

Deepen students' knowledge of Mandate Palestine and the origins of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict by having them apply their historical thinking skills with this guided inquiry. Get your students practice with working with historical documents and texts and applying historical thinking skills like close reading and corroboration. This lesson is perfect for AP, IB, and World History classes!

This guided inquiry asks students to answer the question: "Who did the British want to have power in Palestine?" Students will use excerpts from primary sources like the Balfour Declaration and Hussein-McMahon correspondence and historical sources by historians like Tom Segev to revise their understanding of the role of the British in the origins of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

This product includes excerpts from historical texts, guiding questions and a paragraph exit ticket.
