Description
Would you like a fun way to teach students about the parts of a book? Here it is! Build your own book with your students, while at the same time teaching them the important vocabulary! This activity provides step-by-step directions on how to create your own book with your students using cardboard.
It includes the following items to attach to your cardboard foundation and labels for a review:
-Front cover
-Back Cover
-Spine
-Title
-Author
-Illustrator
-Illustrations
-Call Number
-Barcode
-Summary
-Publisher
-City of Publication
-Copyright Date
-Dedication
-Title Page & Verso (I included labels, but I just laminated a white sheet of cardstock and used velcro to attach the items on)
This activity can be combined with the Parts of a Book poster kit at my store! To see an example of the book I created check out my blog here at http://thebookfairygoddess.blogspot.com/2013/10/parts-of-book.html
Enjoy!
