Description

This 3 page lesson includes background information and directions for teachers as well as a student data collection and observation sheet. In this math activity students create their own tracks in snow, sand, mud, etc. or observe the footprints of wildlife. Students measure the gait patterns whether they be walking, hopping, skipping, etc. Data collected can be used to make graphs, compare by adding and subtracting, and more. Great way to get kids moving and work on math and science skills.

Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
