Making Predictions Worksheets and Craftivity with Four Practice Passages

Give your students an opportunity to practice making predictions with this packet of worksheets that includes four fiction reading passages. After completing these worksheets and craftivity, your students will be lickin' predictions!

This is the procedure your students will follow as they work through this engaging activity that focuses on making predictions.

1. Students are given 2 worksheets that contain the first half of 4 passages. Below each passage, students write a prediction about what they think will happen next in the story.
2. Students are given 2 additional worksheets that contain the second half of the same 4 passages. Below each passage, students write a statement that explains whether their prediction was correct or incorrect.

If you want, you can stop right there. Or, you can continue on and have your students assemble the lollipop craftivity. Students write their predictions on the lollipop wrappers, and they write their confirmation statements on the lollipops. When they glue the wrapper onto the lollipop, they only use a dot of glue at the top in order to make flaps that can be lifted the reveal the lollipop sentence underneath the wrapper. The craftivity makes a creative bulletin board or school hallway display! It can even be used as a valuable addition to your students' interactive notebooks!

Student-friendly directions are included so that you can place the directions under your document camera, and students can refer to them as they complete the project. An answer key is included, as well.
