This Making Patterns in Different Ways Smart Notebook resource is a no-prep, engaging activity created to help Kindergarten - Grade 2 students understand that there are many different kinds of patterns (color, shape, size, and position) and that these patterns can be named by letters. Students then have the opportunity to show how to make, for example an ABB color pattern into an ABB shape pattern, or an ABC size pattern into an ABC position pattern.
