What educators are saying
Nice to have a resource for makey makey other than bananas, piano playing, scratch video games, and conductivity tests! Thank you.
Description
You are looking for an epic and more intermediate project to use your Makey Makey class kits?
The Hot Wire game is an extremely engaging project were students build and design their very own wire track, hook it up to their Makey Makey and program everything in SCRATCH to make it playable.
Two game modes to code:
- Get through the wire track by coding lives.
- Get through the wire track with a time limit/timer.
Students will learn how to use If...then statements in SCRATCH effectively.
Hand out the easy-to-follow student task cards to re-create the code. The last task card asks students to come up with their own game mode/ a twist.
Included in this time-saver package:
- 7 Student task cards
- 2 Teacher hand-outs with link to Scratch codes (I made them ready and accessible for you)
- Google slides, throw them on your Smartboard to introduce students to the project, video files showcase the project idea in action.
- MP3 sound and JPEGs included to share with your students for their projects to use.
- Editable rubric/assessment slide
