What educators are saying

My students love this! It’s easy to prep and it gives students a chance to have quality independent skill practice with added fine motor practice. Highly recommend!

Description

Students look for pairs of numbers that make 10 or 5 and then connect pairs together by sticking pipe cleaners into playdough balls on each circle. The numbers are beside each circle so that they can self-check or you can quickly see if they’ve completed it correctly. Choose whether you want to print the black and white or colour versions as well as the optional recording sheets. I like to laminate mine to use them again and again. If you choose not to laminate the sheets, printing on cardstock makes them sturdier or slide them in a reusable sheet protector. Grab some pipe cleaners and playdough.

Decompose numbers less than or equal to 10 into pairs in more than one way, e.g., by using objects or drawings, and record each decomposition by a drawing or equation (e.g., 5 = 2 + 3 and 5 = 4 + 1).
For any number from 1 to 9, find the number that makes 10 when added to the given number, e.g., by using objects or drawings, and record the answer with a drawing or equation.
