What educators are saying

I have been using this with my advanced reading group in first grade. We also used the same resource for magic treehouse book one. My kids enjoy the format and are able to answer the questions with ease after reading. It is a great tool to use with their reading group/ book club. Thank you!
My students loved using this for book club! I have a parent volunteer who comes in and works with the kids to read through the book and they use the packet to guide their discussion and to write answers down in.

Description

This book club packet/novel study contains reading comprehension questions for each chapter as well as 2 different cover options that supplement the book: Magic Tree House # 2, The Knight at Dawn, by Mary Pope Osborne.

Many different question types are used throughout this book companion including short answer, multiple choice, true/false, and picture drawing to allow your students to discuss and record their answers for each chapter. An answer key is also included.

There are many creative ways to use this book club packet in your classroom.

  • Have a small group read the book together, while other small groups are reading a different book. Have the group of students discuss the questions at the end of the chapter and record their responses.
  • Have a student read the book independently and record their individual responses to the questions at the end of each chapter.
  • Read aloud the story to your class. At the end of each chapter, have them record their responses to monitor their listening comprehension, then discuss their responses.
  • This could also make a great non-prep option for a sub to complete with your class!

This packet is also perfect to supplement homeschooling curriculum.

No prep! Just print and use!
