Description

Get students digging deeper into nonfiction texts with this FREE informational reading passage about Mae Jemison. This is a great addition to your Women's History Month activities so students can learn all about the first African American female astronaut.

This freebie is a SAMPLE of my Women in History Nonfiction 10 passage set that includes both PRINT and Digital versions!

Mae Jemison is written at two different levels (third/fourth grade and fifth/sixth grade) and includes photographs and text features.

This download can be used in a variety of ways including but not limited to: guided reading groups, skills based groups, morning work/bell work, homework, group work, independent practice, and more! You may also choose to model close reading strategies for students and allow them to practice marking up the text and answering the comprehension questions.
