Macroeconomics National Economic Advisor Project - GREAT AP ECON FINAL PROJECT!

GREAT end of year project for an AP Economics class, or general macroeconomics course!

In this project, students will be taking on the role of Chief Economic Advisor(s) for a country of their choice.

They will be expected to become an expert on the country’s current economic climate and will advise a national economic committee on the fiscal and monetary policies that can be enacted to best stabilize the economy in the nation of their choice. Essentially, imagine a conference room with the most important decision-makers in the country looking to your students to explain necessary policies for national economic stability.

This gets students researching current economic policies and using their new-found macroeconomic knowledge to think about real-world positive change!

My students enjoyed this project immensely! I allowed them to work individually or in partners (no more than groups of 2). They love getting to choose what nations they represent, and come in business professional clothing on presentation day. Students worked on these projects post-AP exam and presented them in lieu of a final exam.
