Our second unit covering the struggles and achievements of the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. The unit includes reading activities for the March on Washington, the Letter from Birmingham Jail, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the March on Selma, and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. The download includes enough material for four days of a history or a reading class. The file includes three reading activities, three sets of multiple choice reading comprehension questions, three student response essay questions, three guided reading activities, two sets of vocabulary checks, two sets of true and false questions, an overall unit vocabulary activity, and a final word builder assignment to wrap up the unit. The lessons were written with Common Core Standards in mind.
