MERCI - UNE SAYNÈTE D'HOMMAGE POUR LE JOUR DU SOUVENIR S'ADRESSANT AUX ÉCOLIERS

I’ve used this French recital with my grade 1-3 classes. Fortunately, it doesn’t require much preparation and what it does need is neatly laid out in this easy to use package. Due to the Remembrance Day/Veterans Day symbols held by the students, this creates a visually engaging performance. This recital can accommodate a class of varying numbers of students.
Your job will be to:
1. Put your students into 1 of 5 groups and prepare or have the accessories prepared by volunteers for the students to carry.
2. Choose the poem you wish to use (a simpler or more challenging one). Assign each group a verse to memorize.
3. Send home a letter (included) along with the verse for the child to practise.
4. Practise the students’ line-up order and the recital in the class;
5. Arrange a dress rehearsal before the Remembrance Day Assembly. Practise the line-up a couple of times before the recital in the gym on the stage and perhaps put tape on the stage floor to show where they need to start the line and rows.
