Kit includes 12 strategy posters to hang in the classroom as a reference for students:
WRITE AN EQUATION
DRAW A PICTURE/DIAGRAM
GUESS AND CHECK
LOOK FOR A PATTERN
MAKE AN ORGANIZED LIST
CREATE A TABLE
WORK BACKWARDS
SOLVE A SIMPLER PROBLEM
ACT IT OUT
MODEL USING OBJECTS
USE LOGICAL REASONING
BRAINSTORM
In addition, there are 3 math word problems that correspond to each problem solving strategy (36 total) that can be used to teach/practice the strategies along with an answer key with possible solutions. Kit also includes a 2-page response sheet with guiding questions to assist students in their solution process. Finally, there is a rubric that can be used by students or teacher to evaluate their work.
