Lunar New Year Music Songs and Activities

Looking for ways to teach about Lunar New Year? This comprehensive set was co-created with my friend Chiung Lien-Liu, and can work to celebrate Lunar New Year and/or Chinese New Year, and includes many engaging activities to teach musical concepts AND teach about Lunar New Year! The set includes:

Question: Will this set be updated each year?

Answer: Yes! Simply re-download under "my purchases."

Question: Does this set require lots of prep?

Answer: I created each set so that it would require little prep. Most of the materials can simply be printed and used. The picture book "Dragon Dancing" will need to be purchased or borrowed from the library to use that mini-lesson.

Question: Does this set require technology?

Answer: Many of the materials in this set can be used without technology. The rhythm chart works best if projected onto an interactive white board.

Question: Which programs do I need to open up the files?

Answer: The materials come in a zipped folder, and open in these programs:

• Adobe Reader
• PowerPoint
• iTunes (or another audio program)
