This is a FUN and ENGAGING activity for students to learn about and create their own alebrije, a traditional Mexican art form. It also goes great with the Disney movie, Coco. There is also a link for a great video to introduce the topic.
This is a great activity any time, but especially during Halloween/Día de los Muertos!
The activity includes:
1. A Youtube video to introduce alebrijes.
2. An original reading a comprehension questions about alebrijes (in Spanish and English).
3. An art project in which students create their own alebrije (and includes body part and animal vocabulary practice).
4. Various extension activities.
