Ready to share with your students a fun living and nonliving song and video for your Living and Nonliving Unit with accompanying activities to engage your preschool, kindergarten or 1st grade students? This resource has a living and nonliving song that includes an accompanying animated video (mp4) and also has a piano soundtrack without vocals and audio soundtrack with vocals (both in m4a). Picture cards are included to help students retell the living and nonliving song and practice sequencing skills as they sing along. The song comes in black & white and color.
There is a five day activity plan with worksheets that build upon the living and nonliving song. On day one students will search, highlight and write a letter that is in the song (a variety of letter choices are available). Day two students will search, highlight and write a sight word in the living and nonliving song (a variety of sight word choices are available). Day three students will label pictures from the living and nonliving song (with or without a word bank). Day four students will be asked a question then will write and illustrate a sentence. Day five students will retell the song by cutting and pasting pictures in the proper sequence. These activities are perfect whole class instruction, small group instruction, literacy centers or morning work. This song would be a great transition song or could work as a Circle Time song. Your pre-k, kindergarten or first grade students will love singing along with the song video. It’s a great way to start each lesson.
