Greta Gerwig’s 2019 adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s, Little Women, is a beautiful telling of the March sisters and their journeys. We follow the March family in a non-linear timeline as they each define themselves as women. Jo's passion and feminism resonates a lot with women today. Gerwig's adaptation shines a new light on Amy and portrays her differently than the other films. Gerwig has also shared in interviews her love for this book and wanting to portray this film in a way that would make Alcott proud. One could use this film after reading the novel. This would also be beneficial for a Women’s Studies course or an End of the Year film. This movie stars Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, Emma Watson, Eliza Scanlen, Laura Dern, Meryl Streep, Timothée Chalamet, and Chris Cooper. This amazing film received six Academy Award nominations.
