Description

Lifespan Development
Child Development

This project will give students a hands on experience to better understand child development through an analysis of their own development and how it applies to key developmental information from the course. Students will work independently or with a partner and then apply the information in response to the 13 different task cards.

Alternatively, you can assign small groups one or more of the task cards and put together the developmental information as a whole class in a jigsaw manner.

The task cards range from conception to old age and dying.
Activity Overview
 We are going to analyze the life of a child from your earliest development to include adulthood… or in this case your hypothetical adulthood.
 For each new chapter you will respond to the personal and developmental information.
 For chapters 1-9 the information can be drawn from personal knowledge and by asking questions of your parents.
 For chapters 10-13, because this is your hypothetical adulthood, you will draw pictures of your possible future (stick figures are okay).

File Includes:
• Task Cards for printing
• Activity Overview
• *All items are editable

Materials Needed:
Textbooks and laptops or computer lab access for research
Photocopies of task cards (laminate for future use)

You can also have the students make a baby book with chapters 1-9 by using this assignment: AP Psychology Developing Through the Lifespan Baby Book Project
