You will download a functional life skills special education activities packet for your middle school and high school students to practice reading a recipe, cooking, and measurement.
With this functional math and literacy packet, your students will be reading a recipe to make classic chocolate chip cookies. It is a real recipe, so you may also use it with your cooking measurement activities. There are 20 functional reading comprehension questions about the recipe. Finally, using measuring cups and manipulatives (optional), such as corn, rice, or beans, your students will answer 8 functional math measurements questions related to cooking in the kitchen. For example, how many 1/4 cups are in 1/2 cup? How many 1 cups are in 1 gallon?
Answer keys are provided.
