What educators are saying

My students loved this resource and wanted to make so many when they found out there were a lot of options.
My mind is blown. This is absolutely wonderful. Thank you for helping me find a great option to review life cycles as well as do something cool and different!

Description

Celebrate spring with these unique, interactive, life cycles 3-way Agamographs! This collection is a great complement/supplement to your life cycle lessons that will surely engage (and wow) your students!

There are 18 different life cycles included in the package, including the most popular life cycles for plants and animals—and even a bonus melting snowman.

I’ve included plant life cycles, insect life cycles, bird life cycles, and others all into one resource, so you only have to purchase one resource, and you will have everything you need to infuse your science lessons with this fun, unique lesson!

This project is a collection of 18 “3-way” agamographs (listed below). There is no beating the “wow” factor at the end when children walk from side to side and see the images change to reveal all the stages of the life cycle!

Grade: I recommend this for grades 3 and above because of the folding element.

Final Size: A final agamograph is approx 6.5" x 7.5" (but takes two pieces of paper to create and one piece to glue the final to). These are small, individual agamographs.

If you want to do this but teach Pre K-2nd, please see my Life Cycle 3-Way Agamograph Collaboration posters. I have them in many designs: Butterfly Life Cycle, Frog Life Cycle, and Snowman, for a fun way of showing states of matter.

I’ve broken this project down for you step-by-step, AND I’ve included a teaching video to show you exactly how to do this project. I’ve created the video so that you can use it to teach your students—pausing along the way. If you have done my 2-Way Agamographs, you and your students are going to be pros at this!

What is an agamograph?

An agamograph is a series of images that change at different angles. This work is named after the Israeli sculptor, Yaacov Agam, who was born in 1928 and still living today (2024). This artist is known for his optical and kinetic art. To create his agamographs, he used “lenticular printing.”

Although the process of lenticular printing is technical and very complicated, I have created kid-friendly agamograph designs that will result in a piece of artwork that won’t soon be forgotten! The images have already been “spliced” together, and each space has been assigned a color. Once the image is folded correctly, students can walk from one side of the image to the other side and watch the image change.

Jenny K’s 2-way Agamographs: I have created many “2-way”agamograph (2 images spliced together) projects for teachers to use in the classroom. In fact, I was the first to introduce this idea to Teachers Pay Teachers. You may have used one of my other agamograph resources before (thank you!). If you have not and are interested in viewing those, you can see all I offer HERE.

Jenny K’s 3-Way Agamograph Collaboration Posters: I believe in collaboration—teachers and students love creating my collaboration posters because of the large impact they have on their classroom community and their school-wide community. That is why I dreamed up a way for your students to collaborate to do my 3-way agamograph

posters. You may like some of these...

I hope your students enjoy this project!
